What is UNSAY?
UNSAY is a free online social word game. Everyone answers the same prompt on a shared public board. Players can ban a word, hiding it in existing answers and making other players find a new way to say what they mean.
Is UNSAY free to play?
Yes. Reading, posting, rewriting and voting are free. Each new player starts with 5 free demo ban credits. Optional paid bans are available, but you do not need to buy anything to participate.
Do I need an account or an app?
No account or download is required. Open unsay.lol in a modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. JavaScript and an internet connection are needed for the live board. A browser cookie keeps track of your player and credits.
How do I play UNSAY?
Read the prompt, choose a display name and post an answer of up to 160 characters. Read and vote on other answers. Use a free demo credit to ban a word. If a word in your answer is banned, rewrite your answer without it.
How long does a word ban last?
A temporary ban lasts 10 minutes. There are 5 temporary ban slots across the shared board. Optional lifetime bans last for the operating life of UNSAY, including future board rounds.
What happens when someone bans a word?
The exact word is hidden in every current answer that uses it, and new answers or rewrites cannot include it while the ban is active. Matching ignores capitalization: banning cat also affects Cat, but does not affect catch. Original text can still appear in replay and rewrite history.
Can I play UNSAY with friends?
Yes. Share https://unsay.lol and join the same public board from your own browsers. Everyone sees the shared answers and bans. The current version has one public board; it does not offer private rooms or invite-only games.
What do optional paid bans cost?
Temporary paid bans cost $1 for ordinary words, $2 for popular words and $5 for supported company or product names. Only company or product names must already appear in a real visitor’s current answer. A lifetime ban costs $99, with one successful purchase available sitewide each week. Prices are in USD before applicable tax; availability is shown before checkout.
Is UNSAY a word-guessing puzzle?
UNSAY is a creative wordplay game with other players. You write your own answers and adapt when words are banned. There is no hidden solution to guess, no letter grid and no cash prize. The challenge is to keep your answer funny and readable with fewer words available.
Does the UNSAY board reset?
Board rounds reset approximately every 24 hours. The current prompt may repeat; a new puzzle every day is not promised. Active paid bans and lifetime bans carry across resets. Six clearly labelled demo answers help start the conversation.
